From Reports of City Officers of the City Of Newark NJ 1905: Engine placed in service February 8th, 1897. Wagon placed in service February 8th, 1897. Engine is of first size, built by the American Fire Engine Company, Seneca Falls, N.Y. (with a three-horse hitch), with two-horse Hose Wagon, Monitor Deck Nozzle attached, both in good condition. Engine and Wagon equipped with rubber tires.

From 1920 Board of Commissioner's Manual: Engine placed in service February 8th, 1917. Wagon place in service September 7th 1905. Engine is an extra first-sized, built by the American La France Fire Engine Company. Type Metropolitan, with three-horse hitch. Two horse single 60 gallon Champion Babcock Chemical Engine and wagon in good condition and both equiped with rubber tires.

From 1921 Board of Commissioner's Manual: Engine placed in service February 8th, 1917. Wagon placed in service September 7th 1905. Engine is an extra first-sized, built by the American La France Fire Engine Company. Type Metropolitan engine, equipped with White four-wheel tractor, single 60 gallon Champion Ababcock Chemcial Engine and hose wagon equipped with White Chasis
