From Reports of City Officers of the City Of Newark
NJ 1905: Engine placed in service May 24th, 1901. Combination
Chemical Engine and Hose Wagon placed in service May 1st, 1902. Engine
is a second size double Amoskeag (with three-horse hitch), with two-horse
Single Tank 60 gallon Champion Chemical Engine and Hose Wagon. Engine
and Wagon equipped with rubber tires.
From 1920 Board of Commissioner's Manual:
Engine placed in service November 22, 1906. Wagon placed in service May
1st, 1902. Engine is an Amoskeag double extra first steam fire engine,
equipped with a Christie Front Drive Tractor. La France combination chemical
engine and hose wagon equipped with 60 gallon chemical tank. Apparatus
in good condition and equipped with rubber tires.
From 1921 Board of Commissioner's Manual: Engine
