From Reports of City Officers of the City Of Newark NJ 1905: Engine placed in service March 8th, 1874. Combination Chemical Engine and Hose Wagon placed in service November 10th, 1894. Engine is a third size single pump Dennison, in good condition with Holloway Combination Engine and Hose Wagon, Double Tank 35 gallon, in good condition.

From 1920 Board of Commissioner's Manual: Engine placed in service April 1st, 1894. Wagon placed in service October 12, 1900. Engine is third-sized La France, three-horse hitch. Two-horse single 60 gallon Champion Babcock Combination Chemical Engine and Hose wagon. Engine and wagon in good condition and both equipped with rubber tires.
