From Tom Reiss: Engine 19, guardians of the Southern Frontier, was organized in 1906 at 526-28 Frelinghuysen Ave at Fenwick St. E19s first due area is largely industrial and includes Newark Airport. E19 is a single company house but at one time it was planned to add a Truck Company which would have been Truck 13. It was even included in the running cards, but T13 was never placed in service.

From 1920 Board of Commissioner's Manual: Engine placed in service January 28th, 1901. Wagon placed in service February 23, 1907. Engine is an extra second-sized Amoskeag, three-horse hitch single 60 gallon Combination Chemical Engine and Hose wagon manufactured by Valentine and Weeden. Engine and wagon in good condition and both equipped with rubber tires.
