From Tom Reiss: Engine 22 was placed in service in 1908,
operating out of 199 New St at Colden St. This was the last horse drawn
steamer company to be organized, after this all new engine companies were
motorized. In 1955, an Executive Order was issued stating that E22 would
merge with E20. Anybody know anything about this merger? E22 was disbanded
in 1956 and their quarters were demolished to make way for the construction
of the New Jersey Institute of Technology. (NJIT) Engine 22, 1952 Mack
L model pumper.
From 1920 Board of Commissioner's Manual: Engine place
